Welcome

Welcome to the website for Lutheran Chapel Evangelical Lutheran Church! We are glad you are visiting this website and would love for you to visit us in person on Sundays at our worship service. We offer an early traditional service with full liturgy of Confession, scripture, Word, and faithful hymns with Gospel-based preaching) at 9:00 AM on Sunday mornings. We believe that the Word is the Good News that God offers us full salvation and comfort through the obedience of Jesus the Christ and the gift of faith through the Holy Spirit. We are a joyful, friendly community of Christ who takes our worship together with gravity, after which we go out to serve God and the mission field with the gifts God grants us. Please peruse our website to see more specific details of how God calls us to serve China Grove and the larger community beyond through our mission statement of Hear the Word! Live the Word! Share the Word! We are located off Main Street in China Grove, NC across from West Lawn Cemetery. You may access our beautiful white church nestled in a grove of woods by turning on Coach Deal Drive between the Family Dollar and Mt. Zion United Church of Christ. Please visit our warm and welcoming community.

(Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost)

Jesus’ parable about two sons who don’t do what they say reveals surprises in the reign of God. In the reading from Ezekiel 18:1-4, 25-32 the people claim the ways of the Lord are unfair, while God offers repentance and new life. Paul urges us to look to Christ as a model of humility, putting the interests of others above our own. Nourished by the broken bread and shared cup, we offer our lives for the sake of our needy world.

Can you help us?

We are trying to find a photo of each of the past members of Lutheran Chapel that have a stained-glass window in their honor/memory.  We know there are still family members from many of these folks and we would love to add a page to our website with the dedication and the photo. We have photos for two of the windows so far. Take a look. For more information about this project, click here.

Victory Junction is a medically safe, yet exhilarating camp, that challenges children who have a serious medical condition to try things they never imagined possible. This young lady is the lucky recipient of Myrtle Lentz's 1,000th bear for Victory Junction. The young lady, Leah, has now graduated high school and will soon be attending college. Her goal is to become a First Grade Teacher and use her bears in her classroom. She has a collection of bears from all the years that she has attended camps at Victory Junction.

Myrtle has help from several congregation members with stuffing, and tying bows - Joanne Johnson, Norma Patterson and the Sunday Circle.

Just think - 1,000 children have received bears made by Myrtle. What a ministry of love!

Our Mission

We believe that the door to salvation is always open and so are the doors to our church. Our mission is to be fully devoted to Jesus by opening our arms to those in search of the truth. We show God’s love and concern for our fellow man at every opportunity. Through works of charity and opening our doors to listen and love, we feel that we are walking in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.
